Charlene M. "Char" Ross
56, town of Stettin, died Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born February 8, 1949 in Wausau, daughter of the late Wilbert and Helen (Hrobsky) Hargraves. On August 24, 1974, she married the love of her life, Dennis Ross in Abbotsford. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2002.
Char was a data processor for the Family Planning Health Services, Inc., Wausau for the past ten years. She was a former member of the Eastern Star, a Notary Public and Treasurer for the Upland Chapter of Pheasants Forever. Besides hunting and fishing, Char enjoyed spending time on Madeline Island. Before Denny died, they loved to travel to special places like, Kentucky Derby, Mazatlan, Mexico and many other places. She was an avid Packer fan. One of Char's passions was doing her yard work, especially with her John Deer Tractor. After Denny's passing, Char continued their seasonal decorations.
Survivors include one brother, Randy (JoAnn) Hargraves, Wausau; three sisters, Patty (Jack) Kemps, Wausau, Josephine Hargraves, Dorchester and her twin, Darlene (Jim) Prelipp, Birnamwood; step mother, Dorothy Hargraves, Colby; two step brothers, Ronald (Mary Ann) Denzin, Marshfield and Douglass (Charlene) Denzin, Abbotsford; several nieces & nephews and many many friends that loved and will miss her.
Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Chaplain John Mueller will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of services at the Stewart Avenue funeral home. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Washburn.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
