Charity Kay Volm
18, Athens died Saturday, September 21, 2002 as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born December 25, 1983 in Wausau, daughter of Lisa Volm and Tim Karlen.
Charity was a cashier for Shell Gas Station in Merrill. She loved to collect angels.
Survivors include her mother, Lisa (Bob) Zocher, Athens; father, Tim (Tracey) Karlen, Edgar; two sisters, Megan Zocher, Dorchester and Kaylee Karlen, Edgar; five brothers, Nathan Volm, Athens, Joe Zocher and Tyler Zocher, both of Rib Lake, Justyn Karlen, Holcomb and Aaron Karlen, Edgar; grandparents, Robert and Mary Volm, Marathon; Hilbert and Shirley Zocher; Athens and Len and Doris Karlen, Edgar; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her great great grandparents, Vernon and Angeline Meyers and Ottmar and Rose Volm.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday; September 25, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again from 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Charity's name.
Though Charity left behind a multitude of saddened friends and family, she is now seated on the lap of God looking down at all the families that she has granted another chance at life. With Charity's generous contribution of her organs and tissues, a number of lives can go on. Here on earth Charity was a chronic collector of angels. Now as an angel herself, her journey to heaven will take her to the greatest collection of angels that one could only imagine. May you rest in Peace Young Angel, You will be in our hearts and minds forever.
