Cecilia "Lucy" Hoss
100, Wausau, died Thursday August 19, 2010 at Marywood Convalescent Center, Wausau.
She was born March 20, 1910 in Auburndale, daughter of the late Nick and Emma (Liebel) Schill. In 1933 she married Raymond Hoss in Waukegan, Ill. He preceded her in death August 14, 1957.
Cecilia had been self-employed as a hairdresser and had tended bar at the Chatterbox for many years. She was a 50 year member of the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Burns Post No. 388, Wausau.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann (Wilbur) Kohnhorst, Clearwater, Fla., Gloria Jean (Jerry) Kostka, Wausau, seven grandchildren, Kenny (Peggy) Kohnhorst, Karen (Keith) Hocking, Kathy (Mark) Wardon, Kelly Kohnhorst, all of Wausau, Mike Kohnhorst, Florida, Tim (Rachael) Kostka, Wausau, Tammy (Keith) Hannasch, Minn., 12 great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, three sisters, Marie Maddock, Chandler, Ariz., Margaret (Bud) Brockman, Vesper, Delores Thomas, Chandler, Ariz., two brothers, Raymond Schill, Shafter, Calif., Duane (Marcella) Schill, Brookfield.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Raymond Hoss Jr., two sisters, Helen Hasselberger and Viola Kolbeck and four brothers, Clarence, James, Edward and Leo Schill and her special friend, Joe Steinke.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday August 26, 2010 at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. William Grevatch will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park. Friends may call on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Sixth Street funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
