Cecilia J. Baumann

Cecilia J. Baumann 91, formerly of Athens, died Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Phillips. She was born June 22, 1913 in Marathon, daughter of the late Carl and Anna (Gassner) Baumann. Cecilia was a housekeeper for her brother, Rev. Aloys Baumann in Greenwood until his death. She then joined her sister, Gertrude, who was the housekeeper for Rev. Ralph Geissler. She assisted Gertrude with the household duties and after Gertrude's death, Cecilia became Rev. Geissler's primary housekeeper. She had a great talent for needlework and enjoyed gardening. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Johanna Baumann, Irene Dahlke, Sr. Mary Carla F.S.P.A., Gertrude Baumann and Mary Baumann; six brothers, Michael, Rudolph, Alfred, Alex, Joseph and Rev. Aloys Baumann. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
