Catherine A. Gorectke
89, Wausau, died Thursday January 23, 2003 at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
She was born June 17, 1914 in Dousman, daughter of the late Joseph and Ottillia (Ruff) Koehler. On September 2, 1950 she married Lambert Gorectke at St. Paul Catholic Church, Bloomer. He preceded her in death February 21, 1998.
Catherine was a waitress for over forty years at several area restaurants, including, the Elk's Club, VFW and the former Billy Moy's. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, canning and craftwork. Special to her was the time spent with family and friends, especially her grandsons.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary (Ken) Wiesman, Wausau, three grandsons, Jesse Wiesman, LaCrosse, Ryan Wiesman, Milwaukee and Brett Wiesman, Wausau.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin Koehler, Leon Koehler, Louis Koehler, four sisters, Helen Koehler, Dee Dee Irwin, Mary Horn and infant Lorraine Koehler.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2003 at the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Gross will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.
