Carolyn B. Wendorf

Carolyn B. Wendorf, 92, Wausau, died November 30, 2016 under the care of Asera Care Hospice at Care Partners, in Weston.
She was born February 9, 1924 in Rothschild, daughter of the late William H. and Emma (Otto) Schmidt. She graduated from Wausau High in 1942.
Carolyn held a variety of jobs during her lifetime. Her 13 years of working as a sales clerk for Winkelman's department store in Wausau were her favorite. She often referred to the owner, Cassius Winkelman, as a "true gentleman". Carolyn also worked for 12 years at Johnson Hills department store in Wausau. She later worked as a senior aide for a variety of service agencies in Wausau. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling.
Carolyn is survived by one daughter, Norma (John) Bandock, Wausau; three grandchildren, Wade (Pam) Tasche, Marathon City, Diane (Joshua) Husom, Altoona, and Rachel Bandock (Adam Dunn), Oakland California; and two great-grandsons, Aiden and Alex Tasche.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, her sister Gertrude Schoeman, and daughter Bonnie (Dennis) Tasche.
The family would like to thank Care Partners and Asera Care for their kind and compassionate care.
A memorial service will be held December 16, 2016 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home at 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Visitation will be from 4:30p.m. to 5:30p.m. with a service to follow. Chaplain Rick Kelm from Asera Care will officiate.
