Caroline C. Clarkowski

Caroline C. Clarkowski 81, Wausau died Wednesday March 14, 2012 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Cedar Ridge Elder Services, Schofield. She was born November 26, 1930 in Rosholt, daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanne (Zywicki) Stankowski. On August 30, 1969 she married Arnold Clarkowski at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2005. Caroline retired from the former Thorp Finance Corporation and Franklin Savings and Loan. She was a member of St. Anne's Fatima Council, St. Michael Rosary Society and the Secular Franciscans. Some of her favorite pastimes included a good game of Yahtzee and Bingo, praying, playing cards, singing and visiting with her family and friends. Survivors include her step children, Richard (Janet) Clarkowski, Eau Claire, Jerry (Cheri) Clarkowski and Dennis (Shawna) Clarkowski, both of Schofield, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Caroline is further survived by her sisters, Lorraine Jozwiak, Michigan and Irene Landowski, Schofield as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sisters Regina Groshek, Esther Brzezinski, Alice Gorski, Sadie Burclaw and her brothers, Hubert, Felix, Louis, Clarence and Tony Stankowski. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2012 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
