Carol Denise Reetz, 86, of Wausau, passed away in her sleep at home on July 5, 2025.
Carol was born on March 3, 1939, the second child of Marvin and Ida (Schultz) Laabs. She attended Wausau High School and graduated with the Class of 1957. Shortly after, she began working as a receptionist at the D.J. Murray Manufacturing Company in Wausau, where she remained until 1965.
On July 2, 1960, Carol married Warren A. Reetz. Together, they raised their three children in Wausau. In the early 1970s, Carol began employment at the Telephone Answering Service, where she worked for over 25 years until her retirement.
Carol was selfless, good-natured, and thoughtful. She consistently put others before herself and offered kindness and generosity without hesitation. She had a love for games, which she enjoyed playing with family and friends. Whether she was sitting around a table playing cards with loved ones, enjoying her favorite game shows on television, or trying her luck at the slot machines in the casino, she found joy in moments of play, laughter, and friendly competition. Her children and grandchildren treasure many fond memories of playing Uno and Sequence with her during family gatherings—occasions filled with fun and connection.
Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Warren A. Reetz; her children, James (Karla) Reetz and Sue (Rick Jackson) Lind; and her grandchildren, Jamie Reetz, Abigail Reetz, Nathan Reetz, Connor Lind, and Alexa Lind.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kaye Reetz; her parents, Marvin and Ida Laabs; her brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Donna Laabs; her sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Andrew Burgoyne; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Warren J. and Berneice Reetz; and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Arvada Geier, Willis and Elaine Seidler, and Larry and Kathleen Reetz.
