Carol E. Krieg

Carol Krieg 96, Wausau, died at her home on Sunday February 27, 2022. She was born in Plainfield, WI April 29,1925, daughter of the late Fred and Ella (Sanford) Martin. On February 14, 1946, she married Sylvester Krieg at St. Mary Church, Wausau.

Carol graduated high school at 17 and moved to Wausau to begin a working career that spanned 70 years. She started work at Employers Insurance of Wausau and held a number of more responsible positions working her way up to Exceutive Secretary to the President, working directly with the President and Chairman of the Board, Hans Hagge. Carol left Employers Insurance of Wausau to continue to serve the Hagge family and foundation. She worked for a number of generations of the family until the time of her retirement, in her mid-80s.

For a number of years Carol enjoyed splitting time between her home in Wausau and the cottage up north in Rhinelander. After her husband passed away in 2014, she began taking piano lessons.

Survivors include 2 children, Dr. Kathryn Krieg, Shorewood, WI and children Kevin and Katelyn; and Kenneth (Kathleen) Krieg, Arvada, CO and children Bobbi Jo ( Sharon), Joshua ( Melissa), Colten, Michael, Jason ( Latarkus), and Kyle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Glen.

The funeral services will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 N 6th St. Wausau. Entombment will be at the Garden of Eternal Rest Mausoleum, Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
