Carol T. Imhoff

Carol Imhoff, 82, passed away on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Stoney River Memory Care, Marshfield. Caroline "Carol" Theresa Imhoff was born in Marshfield on January 26, 1933 to the late Henry and Martha (Drexler) Imhoff. She was the oldest of six children. Her parents moved to Laona, Wisc. shortly after and lived there until she was 11 years old and at that time they moved to a family farm near Marathon in the town of Cassel. She attended Sacred Heart Grade School, then Marathon High School graduating in 1951. She then went on to attend St. Mary's School of Nursing in Wausau from 1951 to 1954. After receiving her license in 1954 she continued her education receiving a BSN from St. Francis, Joliet, Ill. in 1978 and an MBA from Cardinal Stretch College in Milwaukee in 1982. Her first job was in Milwaukee at the V.A. and then had various jobs until 1958 when she joined St. Anthony's Hospital in Milwaukee. She was a staff nurse until 1964 when she became manager of surgical services which included the OR, PACU, DS, central services and infection control. In 1989 she moved to Wausau and continued her career at Wausau Hospital as director of P.A.C.C. retiring from nursing in 1995. Some of her hobbies included rug making, crocheting, gardening and painting. She also traveled throughout the world for both business and personal, often with her sister, Betty. Survivors include her two sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Imhoff, Wausau and Janice (Jim) Hornung, Merrill; three brothers, John (Margie) Imhoff, Merrill, Donald (Lorraine) Imhoff, Wausau and Henry (Marsha) Imhoff, Marathon; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cassel. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
