She graduated Valedictorian from Athens High School and obtained her teaching degree from Stevens Point State Teachers College. She taught all grades 1-8 in a local country school for several years. On June 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to Michael F. Hubing of Athens, Wisconsin at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Athens. Carol was a devoted mother and ;;homemaker who in addition to raising three boys and three girls, was an active participant with Mike in ownership and operation Hubing Auto Parts, first in Athens, later in the Wausau area. Carol was a very well read person, an avid crosswords fan, a wonderful gardener and never missed voting in a presidential election. She most especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She and Mike both enjoyed traveling and had a special fondness for their winter home in Mesa, Arizona. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held this summer to remember Carol. It is planned to take place at Lake Nokomis, in Tomahawk Wisconsin, where she spent many joyful hours in the past few summers at the summer home of son and daughter-in-law Jim and Patty Hubing.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Carol's name.
Dear Lord, we commend unto you the soul of your servant, Carol. May she live with you for all eternity? Amen.
