Carol J. Hartl
76, Athens, died Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
She was born June 22, 1928 in Athens, daughter of the late Albert and Caroline (Eisner) Otto. On March 29, 1947, she married Norbert Hoff in Wausau, he preceded her in death on June 4, 1971. On December 9 1973, she married Leo Hartl in Little Chicago, he preceded her in death on August 7, 1993.
Carol retired from Hurd's Millwork Company in 1993 after many years of employment. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Among her many interests, she enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with her grandchildren and her pets.
Survivors include three daughters, Karen (Roger) Pecher, Sherry, Wis., Jean (Lylas) Baumann, Athens and Sandra (Robert) Romang, Rib Falls; six grandchildren, Brian (Laurel) Pecher, Norbert (Andrea) Pecher, all of Vesper, Wis., Scott (Cari) Baumann, Carrie (Kris) Klinger, all of Hamburg, Second Lieutenant Heather (Michael) Garske, Dayton, Ohio and Nicole (Jack) Smith, Weston; fifteen great grandchildren; one sister, Rubena Meyer, Marshfield; and many nieces and nephews further survive.
Besides her parents and husband's Norbert and Leo, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, LeRoy Hoffman; and three brothers, Orville, Paul and LaVerne Otto.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Rev. Donn Radde will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Village Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call Monday, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Athens funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
