Carol L. Giese

Carol L. Giese, age 80, died Tuesday, March 5, 2013 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Azura Memory Care, Wausau. She was born November 29, 1932 in Wausau, daughter of the late August and Betty (Hoeft) Brandt. On January 31, 1953 she married Robert Giese in Athens. He preceded her in death. Carol farmed in the Athens area with her husband. After he became disabled she took care of him for many years, then moved to Wausau where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for the VNA . She loved her pets, Tiny Tim and Muffy and gardening, especially flowers. Time spent with her family at annual trips to the Hodag Country Music Festival were cherished by all. Survivors include her three daughters, Kathy (Tom) Mason, Rib Mountain, Karen Giese, Rib Mountain, and Sandy Haas, Wausau; two granddaughters, Emily Haas, Madison, and Olivia Haas, Eau Claire; one foster sister, Mary Lou Bahr. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. Chris Sansom will officiate. Friends may call Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Azura Memory Care for their patient, compassionate care of Carol.
