Carol L. DeValk, 80, died Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born February 9, 1936 in Genoa, Nebraska, daughter of the late Harold Collins and Corrine (Barnett) Jones.
Carol enjoyed life, loved having fun and her "two Johns", John Elway and Jon Bon Jovi. Some of her favorite things were trips to the casino, traveling the world, football and horse races. Above all, she loved her family and had a special bond with all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to her as "Granny Cakes".
Survivors include her children, Wendy Brendemuehl, Laurie Whetzel, Robin Truesdale, Kelly (Jim) Ninnemann, Randy DeValk, Jody DeValk and Nikki (Tim) Cochran; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jeffre (Jose) Collins-Hernandez and Jon (Lynn) Collins, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
A celebration of Carol's life will be 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Homestead Inn. Homestead Inn is located at 8507 Hwy 52, Wausau.
