Carol H. Blaubach, 88, Marathon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Rennes Health and Rehab in Weston, surrounded by family.
She was born October 3, 1933 in Marathon, daughter of the late Edwin and Dorothy (Gresens) Braunel. On September 9, 1950, she was united in marriage to Ernest F. Blaubach at St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church in Marathon. He survives.
Carol farmed alongside her husband, Ernest, for many years. She was a longtime member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rib Falls, where she was a past treasurer and past president for the Zion Ladies Aid.
Carol was an excellent baker and made many cakes for family weddings, anniversaries and confirmations. She was also a great seamstress and sewed many dresses for special occasions, including weddings. Spending time at the family cottage up north and fishing with her grandkids was a favorite pastime.
Carol also loved traveling the world with Ernest and spending the winter months in Arizona.
Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Ernest; two daughters, Nancy (Dan) Mueller of Marshfield and their children, Benjamin, Rachel, Jonathan and Elizabeth; and Suzanne (Gary) Neumann of Antigo and their children, Nicholas, Jacqueline, Kristina and Katee Jo; three sons, Larry Blaubach of Manitowoc and his children, Trina, Travis and Jamie; Steve (Debra) Blaubach of Tomahawk and their children, Nathan, Brittany and Marisa; and Mark (Faye) Blaubach of Wausau and their children, Adam and Justin; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Dawn Mae Burish and Jane Ross; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Traska and Lucille Shoepke; and three brothers, LeRoy, Merlyn and Duane Braunel.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, Marathon. Rev. Jon Hadler will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
