Carmeletta A. Bunkelman

CARMELETTA A. BUNKELMAN 73, 705 Mueller St. Athens died Thursday July 12, 2001 under the care of In Home Care Hospice of Marshfield at her home. Carmeletta was born May 22, 1928 in the Town of Johnson daughter of the late John and Mary (Radlinger) Schrieber. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Bunkelman by Rev. Raymond Schultz September 25, 1948 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan. Carmeletta played music since the age of 9 and played the trumpet in a 5 piece band and was active in the choirs at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan and St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Prior to her marriage, she was employed for a year and a half at the Milan Cheese Factory. Carmeletta and Lloyd farmed together in the Town of Johnson for 11 years and then farmed in the Town of Halsey until retiring in 1989. They then moved into the Village of Athens. Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Bunkelman, Athens, Carmeletta is survived by her children, Mary (Bruce) Faulkner, Athens, Rita Hoen, Luck, WI, Tom (Florine) Bunkelman, Edgar, Jane Jahnke, Athens, Jim (Carol) Bunkelman, Athens, Bob (Deanna) Bunkelman, Excelsior, MN, Matt (Lucy) Bunkelman, Medford, 17 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, 2 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Catherine Schrieber, Athens, Hyacinth Ganser, Mosinee, Rosaland Kramer, Abbotsford and 1 brother, Kenneth (Madaline) Schrieber, Abbotsford. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 brother, Homer Schrieber. The funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Monday July 16, 2001 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Athens funeral home.
