Carl A. Totzke went to be with his son, Jeremy, on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at House of the Dove, Marshfield, WI. He was born April 22, 1943 in Wausau, WI to Albert and Agnes Totzke. Carl lived a life defined by service, family and community roots.

Carl graduated from Edgar High School in 1961. He proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving in active duty from 1961 to 1963. Carl returned home in 1963 to work alongside his father on the family farm, while also driving a milk truck, continuing a strong tradition of hard work and dedication to rural life.

In 1965 Carl married the love of his life, Jean Paul, in Edgar, WI. Together they built a life centered on family and community while raising four children.

Carl was deeply service minded and took great pride in giving back. Over the years he served his community in many roles including the Frankfort town board, the Edgar School board and as treasurer of his church. He was a member of the Marathon County Holstein board, a founding member of the Frankfort Freedom Riders, served on the Midland Cooperative board, member of the Wausau Area Jaycees and a proud lifetime member of the VFW. Family was at the heart of Carl’s life. He loved to attend his children’s activities and was a proud supporter of Edgar High School athletics. Carl was especially proud of his role as a grandfather to Matthew, Brienna, Cameron and Grayson. He cherished attending their events and spending time with each of them creating special memories along the way. One particular meaningful experience was sharing the Never Forgotten Honor flight with his granddaughter Brienna, and experience he held close to his heart.

Carl is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jean, his children, Cathy (Rob), Jeff (Jess) and Anthony (Annette); his grandchildren, Matthew (Kayley), Brienna (Tyler), Cameron (Cayden) and Grayson; his great grandson, Theo Albert and his special grand dog, Yeti. He is further survived by his sisters, Jane, Kaye and Kris; a brother, Aaron and numerous nieces and nephews.

Carl will be remembered for his quiet unwavering service, his smile and friendly waves and the genuine care he showed to his family, friends and community.
