Carl H. Toelle

Carl H. Toelle 52, Beaver Dam, formerly of Wausau, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Golden Living Center, Beaver Dam. He was born May 27, 1959 in Wausau, to George Toelle and Luana (Weizenicker) Schroeter. Carl was a graduate of Wausau High School. He was employed at Wausau Homes Transportation, Wausau and Kreilkamp Trucking Company in Allenton, Wis. Carl then fulfilled his dream of owning his own trucking company, Paladin Trucking. He enjoyed driving coast to coast until his cancer was discovered. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed hunting on his grandfather's hunting land and fishing on Deer Lake in Tomahawk. His Harley Davidson motorcycle was his prized possession, and he belonged to many motorcycle clubs. After being confined to a wheelchair, he spent many hours building model motorcycles and model cars. Carl proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Survivors include, his father, George Toelle, Wausau; his mother, Luana Schroeter, Wausau; two sisters, Katheryn Dehnke, Wausau and Lisa (Jeffrey) Geiger, Rhinelander; two step-brothers, Robert Schroeter, Schofield and James (Pamela) Schroeter, Wausau; one step-sister, Barbara (Steven) Plaza, Fergus Falls, Minn.; his grandmother, Bernice Weizenicker, Tomahawk; a very special aunt and uncle, Philip and Bonnie Mackie, Lancaster, Ohio; and many special nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Leroy Schroeter on December 3, 2010. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau, with full military honors conducted by the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Rev. Theodore Gulhaugen will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Tomahawk. Friends may call Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
