Carl R. Framke

Carl "Carly" R. Framke 87, Athens, died Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born July 21, 1923 in Athens, son of the late Charles and Linda (Bramm) Framke. In his younger years, Carl worked for Fromm Brothers Mink Farm where he met his wife to be, Phyllis Salefski. They were married on March 2, 1946 in the town of Hamburg. She preceded him in death on May 16, 2010. For many years, he worked in the construction business and then went on to be a self-employed logger. Carl's favorite pastime was working with his draft horses in the woods. He also enjoyed working on chainsaws as a part-time job. Survivors include, five children, Gary (Debbie) Framke, Edgar, Carol (George) Griesmer, Edgar, Charles Framke, Athens, Robert Framke, Athens and Sandra Harless, Canton, Ohio; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, Larry Framke, Athens. Besides his parents and wife, Phyllis, he was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Christopher; one brother, Norman; and three sisters, Agnes Framke, Geri Poker and Bernice Giese. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery.
