Bruce P. Kufahl, age 70, passed away June 23, 2015 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota after a long debilitating illness.
Bruce was born January 7, 1945 in Wausau, to the late Irven and Dorothea Kufahl. He grew up in the Wausau area, and said his life really began when he met his wife Donna and married her on May 22, 1965.
He was a maintenance supervisor and considered Gordon Aluminum a second home for 25 years until he retired due to his illness in 2005. He was previously employed at Anson & Gilkey Co. in Merrill for 13 years.
Bruce enjoyed motorcycling. He started at a very young age and continued to ride until he no longer was able. He relished warm summer evenings and riding past a field of fresh cut hay. He always looked forward to weekend breakfasts at Log Cabin with friends. Pizza at Sam's was a tradition since his family was young. He cherished coffee with friends throughout the years and Friday Night Fish Frys with friends and family. Bruce was always ready for a good conversation and talked about anything and everything. He loved his family deeply and doted on his grandchildren. He spent many hours holding them on his lap and reading stories.
Bruce was always quick to joke and loved to laugh. He had a great love of life and we miss him terribly.
Bruce's loving family is; his wife Donna, son, Blake (Beckie) and their three children, Alexia, Alivia and Brock; son Brett; and daughter, Brooke (Bob) Frenkel, all of Wausau; siblings, Larry (Patti) Kufahl, Wausau, Thomas Kufahl, Wausau, Diana (Arthur) Borchardt, Wausau and Faye (Bill) Kufahl, Jefferson, Wisc. Also surviving is mother-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Zastrow, Wausau, and many in-laws and extended family and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gail Kufahl.
