Brian D. Schmidt

Brian D. Schmidt, age 65, of Wausau, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at his home.

He was born on October 2, 1960, in Wausau to Martin and Janet (Miracle) Schmidt. Brian proudly served in the U.S. Army before beginning his career as a metal fabricator at Greenheck, where he worked until his retirement

Brian found happiness in the simple things in life. He loved riding his motorcycle and looked forward to camping trips to Tomahawk with his family. He also had a love for animals and liked relaxing at home with his favorite shows and movies, especially Star Trek, The Three Stooges, and Star Wars. Above all, Brian loved his children and was very involved in their lives. He cherished the time he spent with his family and the moments they shared together.

Respecting Brian’s wishes, no services will be held.

Brian is survived by his children, Alyssa (Matthew) Tackes and Matthew Schmidt; mother, Janet (Miracle) Schmidt; and siblings, Perry (Laura) Schmidt and Amy (Kurt) Cieslek.

He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Schmidt; and his brother, Todd Schmidt.
