Brexston Lemere

Brexston "Breck" LeMere 86, Rothschild, died Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born March 30, 1925 in Tripoli, son of the late William and Margaret (Fleischman) LeMere. Breck retired from James Rivers Corporation of Wausau. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy on board minesweepers in both the Atlantic and Pacific from 1943 to 1947. Breck was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Being an avid sportsman he enjoyed many outdoor activities including ski jumping, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, small game and rifle hunting. Some of his other hobbies included fishing, bowling, trap shooting and golfing. Survivors include his sisters, Priscilla Strek and Marlene (James) Rochon, both of Wausau; sister-in-law, Violet LeMere, Wausau; niece Peggy Cabot, Colorado; nephews, Charlie (Jackie) Rochon, Oconto Falls, Dale (Lynn) Rochon, Superior, Gilbert Strek, Steve (Sue) Strek, both of Wausau, James Strek, Tomahawk; grand nieces, Katie Cabot, Colorado and Aubrie Rochon, Oconto Falls; grand nephews, Breck Cabot, Colorado, Scot and Chris Rochon, both of Superior, Jesse Strek, Washington, Logan and Bryce Rochon, both of Oconto Falls, Dan and Curt Strek, both of Wausau. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Loyal LeMere. The funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. The Rev. John Robert Alphonse will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call Sunday from 5 - 7 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
