Billy J. Smith
33, Wausau, died Friday, October 14, 2005 as a result of a work related accident in Schofield.
He was born July 20, 1972 in Merrill, son of Tom Smith, Merrill and the late Betty (Maeder) Smith. On August 28, 1993, he married Christy Hintz at the Eau Claire Dells Park. She survives.
Billy was employed at American Wood Fibers, Schofield. Among his favorite things to do were fishing, snowmobiling & playing Texas Hold'um with his brother-in-law He was very involved in all aspects of the operation of Swanson's Concessions, and during the Wausau Fair, Billy was in charge of supplying refreshments to the Grand Stand during the shows.
Besides his wife, Christy, survivors include his four daughters, Cassidy Jo, Samantha Jo, Rebecca Jo and Jessica Jo, all at home; his father and step-mother, Tom and Sharon Smith, Merrill, a brother, Mike (Tammy) Smith, Georgia, a sister, Paula (Kelly) Bales, Colo. a half-brother, Patrick Smith, Wausau, a step-brother, Scott (Tammy) Haig, Merrill, a step-sister, Linda (Ed) Wisniewski, Merrill, his mother-in-law, Judy Swanson, Wausau; father-in-law, Arlyn (Mary) Hintz, Merrill, a brother-in-law, Jeremy (Tara) Hintz, Wausau, a sister-in-law, Jamie West, Antigo and several nieces & nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday October 20, 2005, at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Melvin Hassel will officiate. Burial will be in Hogarty Riverside Cemetery, Hogarty. Friends may call on Weds. from 4 - 8 p.m. and again on Thurs. from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the Sixth Street funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for his children c/o Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
