Betty Zajackowski Betty Zajackowski, 80, of Hatley, passed away November 17, 2004 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital from complications of a stroke. Betty was born Elizabeth Jane Beauchaine on March 18, 1924 in Saint Cloud, Minn. She is survived by her husband, John, daughter Suzanne Linnett and Suzanne's husband Paul of Faversham, England; daughter Tracy Kurschner, Tracy's husband, Dale, and their three children Claire, Benjamin and Wilson, of Mpls. Also surviving is Betty's brother, Charles (Chuck) Beauchaine and his wife Marge, of St. Louis, Missouri a sister, Louis Perkins, of Hollow Arch, Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews. Betty's spent decades as an elementary school science and art teacher at several schools in the Wausau area, including St. Therese and St. Anne's. She inspired literally hundreds of children to capture the joy of learning. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, drawing and visiting the casino with her husband. Betty was a member of the Rosary Society at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley, Hatley American Legion Auxiliary and the former Birthday Club. But more than anything, she loved being a wife, a mother and a grandmother. Her parents, Laura and Fred Beauchaine, a sister, Loretta, daughter, Kathleen and son, Michael, precede Betty in death. We honor Betty's strength and faith in the face of hardship and adversity. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2004 at St. Florian Catholic Church, Hatley. Rev. Thomas Abraham will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Friends may call from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and again from 10:00 a.m. Saturday all at the church.
