Betty F. Witucki
69, Wausau, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau.
She was born February 7, 1942 in the town of Emmet, daughter of Ruth (Nechuta) Thanig and the late Justin Thanig. In 1960, she met Edward Witucki on Mother's Day at the former Poplar Tree Ballroom in Marathon. They were married March 23, 1962 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Poniatowski.
Some of Betty's favorite pastimes were gardening, taking walks, singing, listening to country and gospel music, animals and being outdoors. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Betty was also a great musician and played many instruments, including the guitar, harmonica, organ and concertina.
Betty based her life on her religious faith and was a member of a local bible study group at Kannenberg Plaza where she lived and made many good friends. She was also known to many family and friends as a "Jokester".
Survivors include, her mother, Ruth Thanig, Weston; four children, Troy (Linda) Witucki, town of Rib Falls, Janine (Dave) Kulpinski, Rothschild, Lori (Pat) Feck, town of Maine and Shawn Witucki, Mosinee; three grandchildren, Anthony Witucki, Mitch and Brett Feck; and one sister, Mildred (Ronald) Abt, Ringle.
She was preceded in death by her father, Justin; her husband, Edward; one daughter, Donna Witucki; and one sister, Vivian Glavin.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in the Mosinee Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
