Betty Jane Prosser

Betty Jane Prosser "Jane", 84, Weston, passed into eternal life on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Cedar Creek Manor in Kronenwetter, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services. Jane was born at home in the Town of Texas on November 7, 1931, the daughter of the late Roy and Mary (Welling) Rhyner. She was one of ten children. Jane was united in marriage to William Prosser on October 14, 1950 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Pine River. They celebrated 65 years of marriage this past year. Although she was a shy person, she was very sweet and loved by those who knew her. Jane was a devoted mother and wife and a great homemaker. She especially enjoyed decorating for the holidays. Her hobbies included, baking, shopping and garage sales. She is survived by her husband, William; one daughter, Gail (Dave) Kudronowicz; one son, Tom (Marlene Engstrom) Prosser; two step-grandchildren, Lee (Dane') Kudronowicz and Kim Kudronowicz; Marlene's three children, Chad Engstrom, Craig (Emily) Engstrom and Heather (Fred) Brannan; special family friends, Jon (Nancy) McMurtrie; one sister, Marge (Robert) Thorn; one brother, Roger (Delores) Rhyner; two sisters-in-law, Emogene Rhyner and Ruth Martin; and many nieces and nephews. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Gordon (Mable), Leroy, Mike (Betty), Edward (Carol) and Eugene; two sisters, Elaine Hoffman and Marion (Harold) Atkins; and her sister-in-law, Rose Duckworth. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Weston. Rev. Lance Hoelscher will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Creek Manor for their care and compassion.
