Betty J. Mueller

Betty J. Mueller, 87, Wausau died Monday, February 19, 2018 at her home. She was born March 7, 1930 in Wausau, daughter of the late George F. Obermeier and Helen (Scutkowski) Schmitz and beloved stepdaughter to Mynard Schmitz. On June 23, 1951 she married Robert E. Mueller at St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2002. Betty was a homemaker, grandmother, great grandmother and enjoyed the simple things in life. She enjoyed trips to the casino, was a frequent flyer on the casino bus and she also enjoyed sewing, caring for others and all kinds of music, especially Polka music. Survivors include her son, James Mueller, Wausau, one granddaughter, Amanda (Seth), Bessette, Ellijay, GA, three great grandchildren, Kaitlynn, KiAnna and Seth Bessette, one sister-in-law, Verlene Obermeier, Milwaukee and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, stepfather and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Romaine Obermeier and two sisters, Delores Roberts-Werner and Marianne Knuth. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Noon, February 28, 2018 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Nathaniel Kuhn will preside. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Wausau. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
