Betty A. King
82, formerly of 135 Charles Street, Schofield, died Thursday afternoon, January 8, 2004 at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield.
She was born February 5, 1921 in Edgar, daughter of Conrad and Theresa (Lindenmeyer) King. She attended St. John Elementary School and graduated from Edgar High School.
Betty worked in Wausau and Milwaukee for several years doing office work. In 1950, she became her brother's housekeeper, Rev. Norbert King who was appointed pastor at St. Anthony Parish in Loyal. In 1974, they retired and moved to Schofield. Betty was a fantastic cook and baker.
Survivors include one sister, Connie Zenner, Elroy; two brothers, Conrad King, Wausau and Clarence (Irene) King, Madison; brother-in-law, Fred Pelatari, Kenosha; many nieces and nephews and her special friend and caregiver, Fran Wilk.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Richard, Alex, George and Father Norbert King and five sisters, Lorena King, Verna King, Clara Arndt, Cecelia Schlichte and Marcella Pelatari.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2004 at St. John Catholic Church, Edgar. Rev. Norman Boneck, Rev. Donald Berg and Rev. Robert Streveler will preside. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at the church.
The family wishes to thank the employees of Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation center, who took care of Betty for the past four years.
