Betty Jane Brandt, 72, town of Rib Falls, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau.
She was born April 5, 1942 in Stevens Point, daughter of the late Harry Sr. and Elizabeth (Falkowski) Drewa. Betty grew up in Bevent, and one of her first jobs was as a beautician in Wausau. On September 3, 1966, she married Earl Brandt at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He survives.
Betty and her husband moved to Rib Falls, where they farmed and raised their daughter, Linda. On weekends, Betty enjoyed cooking at Rib Falls Ballroom and the former Hacks Diner in Marathon. Among her favorite pastimes, she enjoyed making patchwork quilts, textile painting on dish towels and cloths and scrapbooking. She also loved to go to restaurants with her husband and watch people come and go. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and her special cat "Trouble".
Survivors include, her husband, Earl Brandt, town of Rib Falls; her daughter, Linda (Troy) Witucki, town of Rib Falls; one brother, Richard Drewa, Appleton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gladys Drewa, Illinois, Kenneth Weston, New Berlin, Germaine (Edward) Pagel, Minocqua, Elroy (Ruth) Brandt, Wausau, Donald Brandt, Wausau, Jean (Phil) Seliger, Paris, TN, Marvin (Ann) Brandt, Iowa Park, TX and Delores (Don) Kapellen, Buchanan, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harry Drewa Jr.; and four sisters-in-law, Jeannie Drewa, Pearl (Frank) Biela, Annabelle (Henry) Krueger and Isabelle Weston.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon on Monday, May 12, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Friends may call on Sunday from 4:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.
