Bette A. Nass

Bette A. Nass Betty "Appy" Nass, 95, Wausau, passed away Monday, December 3, 2007 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. She was born January 16, 1912 in Wausau, daughter of the late George and Anna (Sauter) Wex. On February 9, 1935 she married Edward R. "Smokey" Nass. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1973. Bette attended Wausau Beauty Culture College and was a licensed beautician. She was a dedicated homemaker who was very active in the Grant School PTA where her son Dick attended. Bette was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and in her spare time she was an ardent gardener who loved flowers. Survivors include her sister, Rita Tallent Picken, Chicago; granddaughter, Denise Schulz Santoyo; great grand daughters, Halina and Marissa Santoyo, Nipoma, Calif.; niece, Doris Andreski Thompson, Denver, Colo.; nephew, James Radtke, Wausau and many other devoted great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Edward, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Lee Nass; her first husband, Julian Schulz and five sisters, Sister Mary Venantia, Gertrude (William) Radtke, Helen (Frank) Andreski, Sister Mary Medulpha and Marie Wex. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau. The Rev. Rey Diaz will officiate. Private internment will be in the town of Berlin Cemetery. Friends may call Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services all at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church or Aspirus Hospice House. The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Aspirus Hospice House for the compassionate care they provided Bette during her stay.
