Bertilla M. Czech
90, Wausau, died Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born November 6, 1916 in Sandborn, North Dakota, daughter of the late Frank and Anna (Sauer) Sokolowski. On June 23, 1941 she married Edward Czech at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wausau. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1961.
For many years Bertilla was an inspector at the former Wausau Motor Parts. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and the company of her family, especially her two grandsons, Eric and Bradley.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Steven) Grell, Wausau, her two grandsons, Eric Grell, LaCrosse and Bradley Grell, Madison, her siblings, Ethel Rottier, Menasha, Beatrice Kuehnast, Waunakee, Lillian Willey, Milwaukee, Stanley Sokolowski, Thorp and Frederick (Cecelia) Sokolowski, West Allis along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother Joseph Sokolowski and one sister Irene Didrickson.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Church of St. Anne.
