Bertie Lou D. Beck

Bertie Lou D. Beck 73, Wausau, died Thursday August 13, 2009 at her home. She was born November 9, 1935, in Wausau, daughter of the late Gilbert and Delia (Merrill) Wendorf. On May 4, 1957, she married Jerome 'Jerry' Beck at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. He survives. Bertie Lou had been employed for several years at Fiskars prior to her retirement in 1998. She had also been a longtime Avon representative. Among her favorite things to do were baking, reading, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was especially fond of attending her grandchildrens school and sporting events and rarely missed one. Bertie Lou also looked forward to the monthly social get-together with her lady friends. Survivors include her husband, Jerome 'Jerry' Beck, Wausau, six children, Randy Beck, Wausau; Rick Beck, Wausau and his sons, Nathan and Nick; Ron (Karen) Beck, Rothschild and their family, Philip (Sara), Melissa, Cassie; Rob (Michelle) Beck, Wausau; Ruby (Tom) Thoma, Wausau and their sons, Jake and Justin; Ryan Beck, Weston. She is further survived by her siblings, Marvin (Lee) Wendorf, Green Bay, Harland (Dee) Wendorf, Tipton, Ind., Harvey (Vivian) Wendorf, Kiel, Elaine Steinke, Merrill and Charlotte Opper, Merrill and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce and three brothers, Lawrence, Gilbert and Dale. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday August 17, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Gary Schultz will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
