Bernice A. Knoeck

Bernice A. Knoeck 77, Wausau, died Weds. September 17, 2008 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was born September 20, 1930, in Marathon, daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary (Hoffman) Stieber. On May 24, 1950, she married Marvin Knoeck at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He survives. Bernice was a homemaker. She was a current member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau and was a member of their St. Jude Circle. In the past, Bernice was a charter member of St. Jude Circle at the former St. James Catholic Church, Wausau. Bernice enjoyed playing cards and reading and had also served as a hospice volunteer. Survivors include her husband, Marvin, two sons, Marvin Jr. (Jane) Knoeck, Rochester, NY, Robert (Karen) Knoeck, Apple Valley, Minn., one daughter, Mary Jane (Ted) Guerrant, Atlanta, Georgia, five grandchildren, Stephen Knoeck, Laura Knoeck, Kristin (Jon) Webb, Christopher Guerrant, Carly Guerrant, one step grandduaghter, Kelsey (Will) Black, one brother, Rudolph (Irene) Stieber, Marathon, two sisters, Marie Krieg, Wausau, Anna Mae (Frank) Heil, Marathon, many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth, a brother, Al Stieber and a sister, Kathleen Stockhausen. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Noon Monday September 22, 2008 at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Wausau. Rev. Robert Thorn will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call on Sunday from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 13092 Sixth Street, Wausau and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a parish vigil service at 3:45 p.m. Sunday at the Sixth Street funeral home.
