Bernice D. Giese

Bernice D. Giese 82, Athens, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at St. Joseph Hospital, Marshfield. She was born July 25, 1928 in town of Rietbrock, daughter of the late Charles and Linda (Bramm) Framke. On September 10, 1949 she married James Giese in Athens. He preceded her in death. Bernice worked at Marathon Cheese for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed camping and fishing with Jim, Ken and Ginny, sewing, gardening, reading and playing checkers with her grandkids. Bernice often traveled and wintered in South Texas with friends and family. In her later years she enjoyed family gatherings and time spent with her son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Kenneth (Virginia) Giese, Mosinee; grandchildren, Michael (Rachel) Giese, Athens and Crystal (Shawn) Betts, Wausau; great-granddaughters, Autumn Dawn Betts and Trisha Irene Giese; brothers, Carl Framke and Larry Framke, both of Athens. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James, two sisters, Jeri Poker and Agnes Framke and one brother, Norman Framke. Funeral services will be 11a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Rev. Andrew Alberts will officiate. Burial will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 4 - 8p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
