Bernard J. Schara

Bernard J. Schara 66, Sun City, Calif., a former town of Emmett resident, died Tues. June 10, 2003 at his home. He was born December 4, 1936 in the town of Emmett, son of the late James Jr. and Mary (Baumann) Schara. Bernard was a veteran of the US Marines. After his discharge, he was employed with United Airlines while attending college. He graduated from Southern California University then worked for Hughes Aircraft as a computer programmer until the time of his retirement. He enjoyed traveling and antiquing. Survivors include two brothers, Edwin Schara, Wausau; Charles (Inga) Schara, Oak Creek; three sisters, Hildegarde (Howard) Holubetz, Downers Grove, Ill.; Mary Beidel, Spencer; Irene (Rodell) Manecke, Stratford, 26 nieces and nephews, numerous great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Aloysius. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Weds. June 18, 2003 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon and again on Weds. from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
