Bernard C. Adams
86, Athens, died Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at North Central Health Care, Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born November 27, 1921 in the town of Halsey, son of the late Frank and Agnes (Fink) Adams. On November 13, 1943, he married Armella Rader at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. She survives.
Bernard farmed in the Athens area for 33 years. Among his many interests, he enjoyed carpentry work, fishing, hunting, dancing and playing cards.
Survivors include, his wife, Armella Adams, Athens; three children, Diane (Ken) Ligman, Weston, John (Linda) Adams, Athens and Judi (Eugene) Hoffman, Knoxville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; seven siblings, Richard (Rosie) Adams, Wausau, George (Betty) Adams, Rockford, Ill., Gerald (Jeanie) Adams, Wausau, Lorretta (John) Kasten, Schofield, Rudy Gardner, Bovee, Minn., Dorothy Neuendank, Schofield and Betty (Ben) Ryskiewicz, Eagle River; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Adams Jr.; and two sisters, Marie Buckman and Florence Heil.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2008 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Reverend Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens and again Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. There will be a rosary service at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
