Benno John Lang

April 16, 1934 — November 29, 2024

On November 29, 2024, our dear Daddy, Benno John Lang, passed into the arms of Jesus.  He was born on April 16, 1934 in Wausau to Ben and Elizabeth (Fischer) Lang.

He is survived by his loving wife, Helen of 65 years; his devoted caring children, James Lang, Bonnie (Jeff) Pagel and Randy (Amy) Lang; his cherished grandchildren, Jacqueline and Jarrett Lang and Katrina and Ashley Pagel; and his brother, Clarence Lang of Florida.

Benno was a wonderful family man whose greatest joy was the happiness and success of his children and grandchildren.  His life was lived with honesty, integrity and an unwavering work ethic.  Benno retired after 46 years (perfect attendance) at Wausau Paper’s, was known as a conscientious landlord, and completed innumerable construction and landscaping projects.

He especially loved imparting the joys of fishing and spending time with friends and family at Hiles Pine Lake in Forest County.  He had a full life as a sportsman, nature lover and enthusiastic traveler to destinations in Europe, the Caribbean and places in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Cheffing, sausage making, fish smoking, canning, baking and fish fries were bounty he shared with everyone.

Private family services were held on Friday December 13, 2024 at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Wausau.  Entombment was at the Holy Angels Mausoleum at St. Michael Cemetery in Wausau.

A special thank you to the outstanding staff at Mount View Care Center during Benno’s last two months, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services, and the VA doctors and staff for all the “extras”, care and compassion given to Dad and the support shown to the family.  Heartfelt gratitude to Amy Atkinson from Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home for all the assistance and guidance during this time.
