Beatrice M. White

Beatrice M. White 89, 500 Grand Ave., Wausau, died Friday, December 14, 2001 under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. She was born July 2, 1912 in Longwood, Wisconsin daughter of the late Charles and Sadie(Reier)Thorson. She married Ervin White in 1934. He preceded her in death. She leaves behind a legacy of accomplishments and love. Beatrice and Ervin owned Whities Market in Wausau. She was a contributing member of this community being a founder and member of the first AL-ANON group in Wausau. She and Ervin managed the Janel Halfway House in Wausau, when it first opened, and over the years managed Kannenberg Plaza in Wausau. In later years, Beatrice worked as a volunteer at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home. Her faith in God was very strong and an important part of her life. She complained little and always had a smile and good counsel that uplifted others. Beatrice was a blessing to all that knew her and especially to her family. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Marathon Chapter # 123. Beatrice is survived by her sons: Larry and Raymond White, their wives Sharon and Jane. Her daughters: H. Pearl Wolf and Susan Tessmer, their husbands, Arden and Gary. Eleven grandchildren fourteen great grand children, her sisters: Dorothy Holloway, Mildred Matheson, Doris Davenport and Joyce Fisher. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters , an older brother and a granddaughter. Beatrice believed that God never gave us a cross to bear larger than we can carry. She believed no matter what, God wants us to be happy, He does not want us to be sad. Birds sing after a storm, so why shouldn't we. For those of you who did not get a chance to say good bye - speak to her in your prayers and she will answer you in your dreams. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday December 18, 2001 at the Peterson/ Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau. Rev. Stephen Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Wausau. Friends may call on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Sixth street funeral home.
