Barbara "Barb" A. Kiepke

Barbara “Barb” A. Kiepke, 83, of Wausau, WI, beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, April 4, 2024, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in Weston.

Barbara was born on February 24, 1941, in Wausau, WI, to the late Earl and Lillian (Hronek) Jannusch. As a young girl, Barbara enjoyed spending her summers on the family farms. In 1959, she graduated from Wausau Newman High School. Later, Barbara worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance and Green Bay Packaging.

Barbara was an avid bowler, participating in leagues throughout the Wausau area. She was a bargain shopper, famously never paying full price, and always offering to carry your shopping bags. Her forte was outfitting her grandchildren for their birthdays and holidays. She was a caring and supportive friend to many and an epic grandmother, celebrating her grandchildren with numerous sweatshirts and t-shirts emblazon with their smiling faces. Barbara delighted in hosting family gatherings and birdwatching.

Barb is survived by her children, Jay (Linda) Kiepke, Joel (Pamela) Kiepke, and Julie (Rick) Jamroz, grandchildren Jackson (fiancée Jenna Shank) Kiepke, Lillian (Josh Fester) Kiepke, Kendra (Aaron) Kugel, Jared and Christian Kiepke, Ryan and Brandon Jamroz, and brother, Robert “Bob” (Chris) Huehnerfuss.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her long-time friend and fiancé, Lawrence “Larry” Johnson.

The funeral service honoring Barbara's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Rib Mountain Lutheran Church. Rev. Tim Swanson will officiate. For those who wish to pay their respects, visitation will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, located at 3400 Stewart Ave. in Wausau, WI. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
