Barbara L. Madden

Barbara L. Madden, 90, died Friday, July 26, 2024, under the care of Interim Hospice at her home.

She was born October 11, 1933 in Wausau, daughter of the late Edwin and Lucille (Bird) Goetsch.  On July 7, 1951 she married Eugene Madden in Wausau and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2013.

Barbara enjoyed birdwatching, country and western concerts, trips to the casino and traveling especially to the Kentucky Derby.

Survivors include her children, Donna (Larry) Haldeman, Diane (Joe) Whitford, Dale (Sally) Madden, Darlene Powers, Debra (Gary) Jacobson and John (Cassidy) Madden; grandchildren, K.C., Melanie, April, Cody, Jason, Lindsay, James “Jimmy”, Ryan, Peter, James, Jessica and Shawn; three step-grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dale (Holly) Goetsch and Roger (Judy) Goetsch, brothers-in-law, Donald (Toby) Madden, John Jr. (Sharon) Madden; sisters-in-law, Doris Madden, Lorraine Poi, Joan Madden and Jeanette Goede.

Besides her parents and husband, Eugene, she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Ray, Pat and Gerald Madden.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, October 11, 2024, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Barbara’s name.
