Barbara M. Cramer

Barbara M. Cramer, 84, Shawano, formerly of Marathon died Sunday, June 29, 2014 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Hospice House, Wausau. She was born February 9, 1930 in Wausau, daughter of the late Mark and Gwendolyn (Sauter) Vetter. On September 24, 1955 she married Merlen Cramer at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1997. Barbara worked at the Marco Co-op for more than 15 years, at Marathon State Bank for over 7 years and prior to her retirement she worked at Marathon Cheese. Some of her favorite pastimes included flower gardening, needlework and she also loved to feed the wild birds. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (fiancAC. Bruce Schabel) Cramer, Shawano, three grandchildren, Travis, Jared and Sierra Sparks, one sister, Winifred Males, Michigan and one brother, Roy (Vickie) Vetter, Wausau and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son and an infant daughter. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. The Rev. Msgr. Joseph Diermeier will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Hospice House or the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
