August "Gus" Lang
83, Wausau, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born July 14, 1921 in Wausau, son of the late Charles "Carl" and Margaret (Ritger) Lang.
Gus was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Pharmacy and for 45 years was owner & operator of Lang's Pharmacy, Wausau. Among his many civic and fraternal involvements, he was past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus, George Schreier Council #1069, past State Chair Columbian Squires, past president of the Wausau Serra Club, past Chair of Wausau Little League, past president of the Secular Franciscans, past Director of the Wisconsin Pharmacy Association Board. He was also one of the original Trustees at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Gus was the former owner of the Nature Trail and Museum in the town of Maine, in which he took great pride in educating Wausau area children in all aspects of nature, including camping. He enjoyed playing cards, traveling the US and Middle East.
Survivors include many cousins.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 15, 2005 at the Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Marathon. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Ave., Wausau and again from 10:30 a.m. Friday until the time of services at the church.
There will be a 7:00 p.m. parish rosary services Thursday evening at the Stewart Avenue funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
