Arthur W. Stieve

Arthur "Art" W. Stieve 75, Wausau, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at Aspirus Hospice House, Wausau. He was born December 16, 1931 in Milwaukee, son of the late Herman and Wilma (Ehlers) Stieve. On September 11, 1954 he married Lois Stoddard in Milwaukee. She survives. Among his many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing sheepshead and was an avid sports fan. Other favorite pastimes included collecting WWII airplanes; especially the B-51 Bomber. He was a director of the Police Reserves and enjoyed working at Sam's Club during his retirement years. Doing volunteer work at church and spending time with family and friends were things Art enjoyed. Survivors include his wife of 52 years Lois; children: Tim (Cheryl) Stieve, Wausau, Michael (Anh) Stieve, Wausau, Lauri (Tom) Plautz, Wausau; grandchildren: Courtney (Anthony), Melissa (James), Troy, Ryan, Amanda (Tim), Alisha and McKayla; great grandchildren: Hero, Allegra, Ian, Oliver and Colin; sister, Ruth Braidigan; brother-in-law, Warner Stoddard; and further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and seven sisters. Funeral services will be 11 am Monday, March 19, 2007 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Bruce Lamont will preside. Friends may call on Sunday from 5pm until 8pm at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 3400 Stewart Avenue, Wausau and again on Monday from 10 am until the time of services at the church.
