Arthur M. Schreiber
84, 1426 N. First Avenue, Wausau, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
He was born May 22, 1920 in Mosinee, son of the late Gustav and Katherine (Herman) Schreiber. On October 3, 1942, he married Frances Bittner in Mosinee. She survives.
He proudly served his country during World War II in the Unites States Army. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Andersen Brothers and Johnson Monument Company, Wausau.
Among his many interests, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing guitar and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Schreiber, Wausau; two children, Dennis (Sharon) Schreiber, Mosinee and Sharon (Joe) Szarkowitz, Mosinee; four granddaughters, Melissa Szarkowitz, Jennifer (Keith) Brod, Nicole and Lindsey Schreiber; three great grandsons, Josh and Johnny Brod, and Emery Moser; one brother, Elmer (Elaine) Schreiber, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Bittner, Wausau and Lorraine (Laurell) Knoeck, Wausau; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Francine Strzelecki; two brothers, Edward and Walter Schreiber; and two sisters, Delphine Schantz and Marion Koppa.
The funeral mass will be celebrated 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Mosinee. Friends may call Tuesday, from 3:00 p.m. until time of services at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street is in charge of arrangements.
