Arthur Remus

Arthur "Art" E. Remus 73, F4816 County Road E, Athens, died Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was born April 6, 1931 in the town of Frankfort, Wis., son of the late Richard and Caroline (Bothe) Remus. On October 18, 1961, he married Ellen Flick in Menomonee Falls. She survives. Art drove truck for many years and then farmed in the Athens area. Most recently, he enjoyed providing transportation for the Amish community. Among his many interests, he enjoyed going to auctions and playing cards. Survivors include, his wife, Ellen Remus, Athens; a daughter, Susan Remus, Wausau; two sons, Arthur "Joe" Remus, Edgar and Scott Remus, Athens; one granddaughter, Amy; two sisters, Augusta Solchenberger, Germantown and Alice Larson, Casper, Wyo.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Myrtle Remus; and one brother, Albert Remus. Friends may call Friday, April 8, 2005 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens. Private family services will be held on Saturday, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.
