Arthur M. Knipple
78, Schofield, died Tuesday November 23, 2010 at the Aspirus Hospice House.
He was born May 28, 1932, in Bevent, son of the late Michael and Julia (Barwick) Knipple. On September 14, 1957, he married Irene Cherek at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. She survives.
An Army veteran of the Korean War, Arthur was a member of the American Legion Post No. 492, Rothschild.
Arthur had been employed as a lineman with WPSC from 1956 until the time of his retirement in 1992. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild, the Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council, and the Public Service Men's Club. Special to Arthur was the time he spent with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his frequent bicycle trips through the neighborhood and for the enjoyment he took in the five a.m. Log Cabin coffee meeting, as well as being an avid deer hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Irene, four children, Bruce Knipple, Weston, Judy Knipple, Mt. Prospect, Ill., Brian (Sann) Knipple, Mt. Prospect, Ill. and their children, Anika and Alex, Steve (Deanne) Knipple, Lake Oswego, Ore., and their family, Logan, Lukas, Liam and Madelyn, three siblings, Jerry (Dolores) Knipple, Milwaukee, Sister Mary Beatrice Knipple CSSF, Milwaukee and Joe (Mary) Leterski, Bevent and a sister-in-law, Sister Mary Barbara Cherek, CSSF, Polonia.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Joe Leterski Sr. and an infant son, Michael.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday November 29, 2010 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Rothschild. Rev. Janusz Kowalski will preside. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kronenwetter. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 A
