Arthur "Art" G. Butler
80, Wausau, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born January 30, 1927 in Wausau, son of the late Arthur and Nellie (Anderson) Butler.
Art worked as a carpenter for Custom Cabinets. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post No. 388, Wausau and the American Legion Montgomery Plant Post No. 10, Wausau. Being a true outdoorsman he was a founding member of the Weston Trap Club and worked many years for the Green Thumb program at D.C. Everest School Forest.
Survivors include his children, Mitchell (Renae) Butler, Marshfield, Douglas (Jeanne) Butler, St. Louis, Missouri and Kris (Joseph) Mohr, Merrill; grandchildren, Katrina Baumann, Sean Baumann, Alexander Mohr, Michael Butler and Mark Butler; good friend, Grace Luetschwager, Wausau, three sisters, Lucille Goetsch, Phyllis Lillie and Delores (Morgan) Warner, all of Wausau and many other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Enid Baney and Charlotte Butler.
The funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Wausau. The Rev. John W. Meachen will officiate. Friends may call Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 6th Street, Wausau and again from 10 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the church.
