Arnold J. Sorges

Arnold J. Sorges Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Arnold Sorges, was taken from us at the age of 92 when he passed away in his Ridgecrest, California home on Sunday, September 30, 2001. He was born on December 23, 1908 in Wausau, Wisconsin, to Albert and Margaret Sorges. He attended St. Mary Grade School on Grand Avenue; was an alter boy at St. Mary Church; and was a graduate of the Wausau Vocational School. His Wausau places of employment include Snapp Electric, Wausau Motors Parts and Marathon Electric. In life, he was a master tool and die maker who made many important and vital contributions to the aerospace industry. After his retirement, Arnold sorges traveled extensively in the U.S. going from coast to coast numerous times. He was a resident of Ridgecrest, California since 1986. Arnold Sorges was preceded in death by his fromer wife, Stella sorges; two brothers and one sister. He is survived by his six children, Yvonne Cook, Apple Valley, Cal., Diana Sorges-Alkana, Azusa, Cal., Dennis Sorges, Ridgecrest, Cal., Janet Worthey, San Diego, Bruce Sorges, Apple Valley, Cal., Pamela Sorges, Yucalpa, Cal.; a sister, Lucille Gutkowski, Wausau, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral mass was held on October 5, 2001 at St. Frances of Rome Church, Azusa, Cal. In Wausau, burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park on Tuesday, October 9, 2001 following an 11:00 a.m. Visitation at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street, Wausau.
