Arnold E. Marks
96, Wausau, died Saturday May 27, 2006 at his home under the care of Comfort Care and Hospice Services.
He was born June 25, 1909 in Big Falls, son of the late Adam and Augusta (Busse) Marks. On November 23, 1937, he married Mabel Knaak in Birnamwood. She preceded him in death.
Arnold was a rural school teacher, then farmed in the town of Maine and town of Berlin until retiring in 1977.
For many years, he was a 4-H Leader and also served as the Superintendant in the Pets and Poultry Department for the Wisconsin Valley Fair. He enjoyed card playing, golfing, shuffleboard and bowling
Survivors include two sons, Roger Marks and Ronald (Bonita) Marks, all of Wausau, three daughters, Rosemary (Don Krakenberger) Pederson, Medford, Mary Marks, Phoenix, Ariz., Sherrie (Ed Gilligan) Marks, Tucson, Ariz., six grandchildren a special friend, Jon Glenetski, Wausau, three sisters, Elvira Holtz, Evelyn Nemetz, Clara Stanley, a half brother and a half sister.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Norman Marks.
Funeral services will be private. Rev. Thomas Hoelter will officiate. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rib Mountain Lutheran Church.
