Arnold J. Clarkowski

Arnold "Arni" Clarkowski 83, 113 S. 7th Avenue., Wausau, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at Colonial Manor Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Wausau. He was born June 12, 1921 in Wausau, son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Prax) Clarkowski. Arnold married Adeline Lapinski in Wausau in 1946. She preceded him in death on September 27, 1966. He then married Caroline Stankowski at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wausau on August 30, 1969. She survives. Prior to his retirement Arni worked at the former D. J. Murray Co., Crestline and Franklin Savings and Loan. He also worked various maintenance jobs at U.W.M.C. but always found time to enjoy some hunting and fishing. Arni was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388 and also a life member of DAV. Arni proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors besides his wife Caroline, Wausau, include his children, Richard (Jan) Clarkowski, Eau Claire, Jerry (Cheri) Clarkowski, Weston and Dennis (Shawna) Clarkowski, Schofield, 6 grandchildren, Deanna Dietrich, Todd (Lynn) Clarkowski, Andrew (Tana Elias) Clarkowski, Brian (Kristi) Clarkowski, Krista (Dan) Hillstead and Amber (Chad) Channel, 11 great grandchildren and one brother, Eugene Clarkowski, Milwaukee along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Arni was preceded in death by his first wife Adeline and one brother Clarence Clarkowski. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005 at The Church of St. Anne, Wausau. The Rev. Steven Brice will preside. Burial will be in Restlawn Memorial Park, Wausau where full military rites will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388.
